Your Beauty Has Purpose
Your appearance—your beauty—might be used in the service of God.

Your beauty has purpose. God’s purpose. When you prepare yourself during your beauty routine, be certain to be prayerful with a mindset of being aware of God’s purpose and how you, and your beauty, can serve Him.
You might be thinking of yourself as just normal, average, nothing spectacular to look at. You might apply blush or concealer, or put on mascara just to look polished and ready, not to be glamourous or to have any purpose, let alone God’s purpose!
But keep in mind, when you look and feel your best, God’s light shines through you. And the most practical function of a beauty routine is just to prepare you to look your best for the day, or for any occasion. But if you go forward and your appearance is infused with goodness, there is beauty there. Keep in mind, if you feel plain, there is still the Holy Spirit indwelling with the light of goodness, and that gives you beauty—even if you are unaware. This beauty serves God's purpose, whether you realize it or not. You might end up doing God’s work just through your appearance alone.
What does that mean? How does what we look like matter?
It means you might be serving God based on your appearance. Maybe someone who is lonely will see you as friendly and be interested in speaking with you. Maybe a person who is lost will see you as the person who can find the way. Maybe an older person who needs help will see you and feel okay to ask you for what is needed. Or maybe a child will see you, and smile, and think the world a good place.
Your appearance affects how people interact with you. You might keep this in mind as you prepare yourself, being prayerful and focused on God as you get ready to go forward throughout your day. Your appearance, when centered on God’s goodness, will draw people to you—people whom God intends for you to serve.
It’s important! Knowing your beauty has a purpose—God’s purpose—is inspiring, and keeps you on track to serve God. “I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well” (Psalm 139:14 KJV).
"Let not your adornment be merely outward—" (1 Peter 3:3 NKJV).
