Try the "Before" and "After" Beauty Challenge!

When you gaze into the mirror, invite the Holy Spirit to dwell within and try to see the light shining back at you through your own eyes. If you’re successful, if allow yourself to be present with the Holy Spirit, you will find that this light is beauty. This light is the most important part of your beauty routine. “In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven” (Matthew 5:16 ESV).

Most of what you do for your beauty—your hair, your nails, your lip-gloss—is only external. It does not reflect the light and love of God on its own. These beauty elements can enhance your looks in a typical way. But it’s so much more powerful if you include the Holy Spirit into your life.

Try it yourself and witness the transformation! Think of it as a challenge—a “before” and “after” challenge. Try your regular beauty routine without any thought or care of God’s beauty shining through you, without prayer, and without gratitude. And then take note of your appearance and your vibe for the remainder of the day.

And then try to do your beauty routine while being prayerful, and while you keep God in your thoughts with gratitude and humbleness. Give the glory to God as you enhance your looks with your cosmetics and haircare products. Give thanks, pray, look into your own eyes and seek God’s light there. Give all glory to Him and thank Him for all the beauty in this world, including your own.

Do this, and notice the difference. We are certain you will find that in putting God at the center of your daily beauty rituals will transform your looks, and allow God’s ultimate, true beauty to shine through. Do this habitually and you will witness the most glorious change in your own appearance. You will witness the effect of the Holy Spirit living with you, shining through you, and making His presence known to the world through your appearance.
